Jacob Cherwick
Five-time MusicNL award-winner Jacob Cherwick is a musician, audio engineer, producer and songwriter. Cherwick is a well-recognized figure in the St. John’s music scene as a member of Ukrainian speed-folk band Kubasonics and emo/math rock favourites Swimming as well as nearly a dozen other groups that can be seen popping up in venues across the city on any given night. When he’s not tracking new material for one of his own projects, Cherwick can often be found recording & producing material for other St. John’s artists as well as working in live sound & lighting. Rarely turning down a gig, Cherwick has performed to captivated concert and festival audiences across Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. Cherwick's interest in design was initially born out of necessity to create visuals for various music projects. Now a full-time artist, this interest has become a fundamental element in his creative practice fusing sound and vision.
